Det Hedenske Folk
True Northern
[PTE]

This demo (via the WWW, trading lists, mail lists) has been creating quite the uproar amongst the underground for quite some time now (and even allowed the band to split a CD with Abyssic Hate), but for the most part isn't anything special. The main reason for the noise concerning this three song recording is the simple fact that Abbath of Immortal plays drums here. I'm not sure *why* this would create such an amazing demo, but according to all the "experts" out there, it is the greatest release in years. Bullocks I say, everything contained here is pure generic boredom, sort of a toned down, less interesting version of Immortal's "Pure Holocaust". Horrible vocals, repetitive and mindless guitar sections, and Abbath's drug-induced drumming (which saves the demo from utter failure I suppose). I've heard from some people that the split CD (on Aussie label Modern Invasion) is far superior to this, so I'd recommend checking that out before even getting close to purchasing this. Are there any questions as to why the Scandinavian scene is near death??
