Behemoth
Bewitching the Pomerania
[Solstitium]

Some of you may be wondering "Hmm...should I grab this new Behemoth mCD or not...it is after all just a mCD". To answer your question: GET THE FUCKING THING!!! I'm bloody serious when I say that this is a *very* tight, very violent, and very interesting 3 track disc. Behemoth have been constantly evolving since starting out as one of the earlier members of the Polish scene (an obviously different member as well, since their music is far easier to handle), and through this release, make me drool with anticipation for the upcoming full length. The only new track (tracks 2 and 3 are from "And the Forests.." and "Sventevith..", and are both excellent, and shine because of the production, but the new track should be concentrated on) named "With Spell of Inferno (Mefisto)", and is a REAL corker. Starting out with a fast paced drum roll, the music jumps into a tight riff, and continues blasting for the six or so minutes that it lasts. Imagine a tighter and folk music-free version of some of the better tracks on "Grom" and this is what you shall get. Behemoth have successfully mixed brutal speed with melody, and kept it *very* interesting sounding. Keyboards, Nergal's hoarse vocals...everything works together wonderfully. Baal has sadly left the band (permanently I know not) but is easily replaced by Inferno from Damnation...hopefully this will be cleared up though, since I think even Inferno has now left the band. One listen to this, and you'll be going insane waiting for the new LP. And as an added bonus, you get a lovely photo of Nergal's over the top good-looking girl friend :)
