Judas Priest
Point Of Entry
[Columbia/CBS]
This album, along with "Turbo", is considered the
weakest album in the JUDAS PRIEST cannon featuring Rob
Halford (since so many are upset with "Jugulator" and
"Demolition" being "too heavy", ha ha). Quite similar
to "Hell Bent For Leather" and maybe “British Steel”
in style and sound, yet even slower and with more
"anthem" style tracks. Basically all of the songs on
this album have catchy anthem-like choruses (except
maybe “Solar Angels”). The best track is easily
"Desert Plains", the atmosphere the songs creates
instantly put visions of vast desert landscapes into
my mind, what better place to listen to this song than
driving through a long stretch of desert highway?? I
actually like all the songs on this album, but at
times some of them almost sound (dare I say)
“commercial”-like!?! Other standout tracks include
“Heading Out To The Highway”, “Solar Angels”, “On The
Run”, “All The Way”, and “Turning Circles”. Of
course, don’t watch some of the videos to some of
these tracks as well, you’ll never listen to them the
same again...
