Varathron are ok in my books. When comparing the Greek scene on a global scale, one must admit that most of it's bands aren't held in high regard (most are quite awful and man oh man have Rotting Christ ever embraced homosexuality!!!). Varathron have always lacked the respect they deserved for being the originators of their style (Rotting Christ gets most of the credit but they weren't the first to do what they did). Nothing stunning but it is atmospheric and does contain some good riffs and melodies that make it passable. It kinda grows on you. No 'Thy Mighty Contract" here but this one's alright with it's honest approach.
