Cerebral Fix
Bastards
[R/C]

This band is a fucking godly! Cerebral Fix is an old English death/thrash/whatever band that ruled when they were together and rule now as legend. I didn't think Cerebral Fix was that great when I first got 'Bastards' and 'Tower of Spite' at some store for $1.99 each, but a couple years later, I popped those discs in the player and was taken aback at my own ignorance.

Even these days, not many people have heard Cerebral Fix and it's a real shame. They had a knack for blending thrashy, deathy metal with some doom elements, as evidenced in the songs "Beyond Jerusalem", "Return to Infinity". The band also had a penchant for mid-paced head-banging tunes with riffs that could rival the catchiness of the Black Plague, as heard in "Mammonite", "Middle Third (Mono-Culture)" and most other Cerebral Fix songs.

This album also includes covers of "Smash It Up" (long before the stupid Offspring did their version; and Cerebral Fix used double-bass in their version) and "No Survivors". Most people probably don't know it, but Frank Healy played bass in Cerebral Fix prior to joining Benediction on bass. "Our home Earth is corroded and diseased by bastards known to us as . . . man!"
