Witchery

[Necropolis]

I liked their debut so I decided to check this out, an opening scream and one look at the Witchery babe's breasts and I laid down loot for this CD (Man what an easy sell I am!). Witchery churn out 4 covers and 3 originals on this disc. Kicking things off is 'Fast As A Shark' and it's done quite well. I was never a big Accept fan but this song always kicked ass! Next up 'I Wanna Be Somebody' originally done by W.A.S.P.. I never liked this song and Witchery makes me like it even less. 'Tormentor' is the song that should've been covered. A poor choice there. Priest's 'Riding On The Wind' does nothing for me cause I was never a fan of theirs (Halford's a fag nuff said). Brave attempt at Sabbath's 'Neon Knights' but one could never really believe it could be bettered.

The three originals sees Witchery kick into some Slayer overdrive. I hear 'Haunting The Chapel' era Slayer. This is a good thing as that period and 'Hell Awaits' was their heyday in my opinion. There's also some 'Metal Militia' Metallica thrown in for good measure. All in all my impression of Witchery carries over with this entertaining CD.
