Man is the Bastard
Sum of the Men
"The Brutality Continues......"
[Vermiform]
Man is the Bastard is associated more with the Hardcore genre, or with Power
Violence, as their music was labeled. However, some Metal fans, especially
Grindcore fans, may want to give this one a try, for this is a brutal band.
To give a Metal fan some idea of what this band sounds like, think "Under a
Funeral Moon" era Darkthrone playing totally chaotic and disjointed,
snail-paced Hardcore. Add to this package experimentation with noise
effects and you get one nasty little record. Actually not so little, since
the album contains 32 tracks - it is a compilation of the band's singles and
EP's. The trick is that MITB play several tracks which vary from 4 to 9
minutes of violent and ugly Power Violence, while the rest of the album
consists of tracks ranging from 30 second to 2 minute bursts of total hatred,
anger and noise along with agonizing lyrics, picturing the decay of society,
being spit venomously by two vocalists, one of whom gives most Black Metal
vocalists a run for their own money. Man is the Bastard!? Indeed.
