[New Renaissance]

As I recently learned New Renaissance Records is back in business, I'm sitting tight that this slab of thrash gets re-released. Originally out in 1987, this album received minimal attention. Guitarist/ Lead Vocalist Greg Handevidt (ex-MEGADETH, pre-first demo/lp...he was on an unreleased demo though, no vocals, or leads, TRY finding that one!) had a decent hand at writing and playing early Metallica/Megadeth- type metal. Tempos vary from fast thrashers (Death Breath, Liars Dice) to the doomy (Down to the Inferno). The production is lame, with the drums a little upfront, bass and lead guitar parts pop up too. I know, I know...ChorazaiM is shaking his head wondering why I like second-tier thrash. The singing is a little Mustaine-like, and cool riffing, like in Mongrel Horde grabbed me. Hey, better this than the new Metallica or Slayer!
