Against
[Roadrunner]

Trax: Against, Choke, Rumors, Old Earth, Floaters in Mud, Boycott, Tribus, Common Bonds, F.O.E., Reza, Unconscious, Kamaitachi, Drowned Out, Hatred Aside, & T3rcermillennium.

Now with Max Cavalera departing to create Soulfly, that left Sepultura in urgent need of a singer. Applying for the job as new lead singer, Derrick Green of Outface & Overfiend. This Cleveland born singer, packs a punch with his hard-core style of singing with a metal edge. As all Sepultura fans, I was in wonder if the new singer could hold a light to Max's vocals, & in fact they're just as good. Sepultura explores a little more of the hard-core side on 'Against' on 'Reza' (song in Brazilian), 'Drowned Out , 'Against' & 'Hatred Aside'-suppose that is the influence of Mr. Green's. 'Floaters in the Mud' & 'T3rcermillennium' has a Brazilian feel to it ('Root'ish, shall we say). The cello makes for an interesting incorporation into 'T3rcermillennium'. Sepultura is as strong as ever on this release, I still prefer 'Arise' to all other releases from Sepultura. 'Against' offers up an ultra kool blending of styles, it's worth a listen if for no other reason than the blending techniques.
