Dark Sanctuary
Funeral Cry
[Ancestral Craft]

Here's a band I've had the chance to follow since day one (worthless cunts! How many bands have I discovered for you ungrateful fucks!?), who have changed and improved their style a million times over since the (boring) demo (which I justly slagged). Going from lame synth only music, to an ultra melancholic combination of old 3rd and the Mortal and Dead can Dance...what a change! This is amazing (albeit non-metal) music!

The keyboards are still the only instrument here (well, unless that's a piano), but they're now coupled (and quite snugly I must agree) with a female vocalist. She's great really, not perfect, but still great. You can imagine with a little more training what she could do. Her voice is mature and powerful.

To get to the point though: "Funeral Cry" is DARK and DEPRESSING. When you've run out of doom death albums to fill the void, turn to Funeral Cry. The entire mCD (On Drac's Ancestral Craft) is a non-stop (and fairly non repetitive) barrage of black emotions. And unlike doom metal, it never stops to fit in a rock riff, or something else that disrupts the flow.
