Comments :

In 1996, two years before the release of Slaughtersun, Dawn has released a mCD named 'Sorgh Pa Svarte Vingar Flogh', and that means 'Sorrow Flew on Black Wings' in old Swedish. This name fits perfectly with the music, because, musically and lyrically, this album is sorrowful, sad and melancholic.

Well, if you have listened to 'Slaughtersun', you will find this album pretty similar. It is almost the same thing : beautiful, very melodic and sometimes aggressive black metal (Swedish sound...), with some discreet keyboards. But here, the atmosphere is more melancholic... The first song is a soft intro and the last song is a cover of an Infernal Majesty song, which adds some hate and aggressiveness to the album. The vocals on this song reminds me those of Carcass on 'Heartworks'...

What about the lyrics? They are like the music... sorrowful, sad, full of despair... read them.

Conclusion :

This mCD is very good : the production is near perfect, the songs are long, and not boring. It could be longer, but it is an mCD...
