An American band that covers "Enter the Eternal Fire" and doesn't mutilate this utter classic ? Yes, I know, I would've put that in the field of myth as well, but I'm listening to the CD right now, so unless they wear a fake identity, it IS possible... Well, seriously, after having it traded almost by accident, LUCIFERS HAMMER's CD took me quite by surprise. But a pleasant one for sure !!! Already recorded in 1997 they somehow managed to blend elements of BATHORY, CANDLEMASS and early American Death Metal into a really great mixture. I know it sounds impossible but (almost) ignoring a natural law they went ahead and did it anyways. Sometimes the mood reminds a tiny little bit of the first recordings of SIGH (a band I just cannot praise enough !), maybe due to the eerie keyboard parts that are thrown in here and there... Anyways, this is really great and everyone with just a bit of intelligence left should run right now to get a copy of this masterpiece !!!!
