Fu Manchu
Eatin' Dirt
[Mans Ruin]

This was my introduction to Fu Manchu, and it blew me away. Good thick bass and fat guitar sound, just like their heroes I presume - Black Sabbath.Opening up is a cover of the classic "Godzilla" (Blue Oyster Cult) and performed in a cool style. Right away Scott Hill's clean, spoken-like vocals will either addict you or irritate you. This is stoner rock, a lot like early Black Sabbath, but upbeat and rocking, makes me want to pull out Ted Nugent or Mudhoney, drink a lot of beer, smoke a lot (not weed though, that's for pacifist neo- hippies), and bang my rocker skull.

Most Fu Manchu releases are under 45 minutes, but depending on the release are worth the coin spent on it. "Eatin' Dirt" is one of them.

Godzilla/ Module Overload/ Living Legend/ Eatin' Dust/ Shift Kicker/ Orbiter/ Mongoose/ Pigeon Toe.
