Wow, this is one massive punch in the face of contemporary hardcore. Converge are an apotheosis of how compelling and unorthodox metalcore can be. This may also be the ultimate crossover album. There is just so much stuff here, it's insane - hardcore, noise, thrash and death metal. Converge put it all together and turn it all upside down and inside out to create this unbelievable hybrid where Slayer rub shoulders with VoiVod, Today Is The Day and half a dozen other bands. All elements are commingled coherently, so the music is chaotic and integral at the same time. Folks, get this album. It's too good to be ignored.
