Demon Realm
Upon the Altar of Darkness
[Independant]

"Upon the Alter of Darkness" is a somewhat enjoyable, messy demo of blasting black metal. Sometimes reminding me of "The Oath of Black Blood" due to the lack of structure and expertise. The Danish trio don't do anything particularly mind-blowing during the six tracks they present us with, but it's decent enough to enjoy.

Vocalist Sharund sometimes reminds me of Dead, and other times like something I can't quite place my finger on. He has that thicker, rough sound to his vocals at least. Musically, Demon Realm could use a little practice. There's zero melody going on here, which is fine, but I assume this demo is trying for something that it isn't. That's what demos are for though, and I'm sure a little tweaking of the production, and practice will have the band producing a finer effort eventually.

Packaged with semi pro tape and cover.
