Azaxul
The Arrival Of The Demonlord
[Chanteloup Creations]

Recorded from down the hallway of their rehearsal space (joke), Azaxul unleashes standard, harsh, misanthropic black metal. Aping early black metal gods such as Beherit, Azaxul's ancient sounding simple chord progressions, and primitive (yet precise) drumming make this perfect for those who embrace frigid, atmospheric (not in a keyboardy way) black metal. The vocals remind of a mix of Summoning and Pervertum. The songs, although not overly mesmerizing, have interesting chord choices and are as good as any black metal being produced presently. Production is, of course, not very good, but also not an issue.
