Let me put it this way: This is basically Electric Funeral or Sweet Leaf slowed down to the most drone-y, poundy, crippled snail-paced dirge ever recorded on compact disc. Personally, these are the damn SLOWEST songs I’ve heard. Ever. And that’s the truth. Burning Witch incorporates some very interesting dynamics in these gaping chasms of songs, inducing, I’m sure, some of the most inspired trips for leafhounds. Unfortunately, I’m not one of those so I guess I’m not the best person to ask for a good review on this particular record. These guys make Electric Wizard and even *gasp* Noothgrush sound happy and upbeat. They make Iron Monkey seem like Orange Goblin and Eyehategod sound like Slayer. Get the point? Good. Bad record all the same, though.
