Nebula
Sun Creature
[Man's Ruin]

Take MC5, Blue Cheer, Lucifer’s Friend, Blue Oyster Cult and what the fuck do you get? Nebula, that’s who! These wonders continue the magnificent legacy left behind by their awesome debut re-released on Relapse, Let It Burn and let their garage grooves and punker attitude speak for themselves in a release seemingly unleashed from the ‘70s. Out Fu Manchu-ing Fu Manchu and out-grooving Hangnail, these guys are the true classic blues-rock revisionists, even more so in my opinion than hairy Swedes Spiritual Beggars. Never mind the fact that this is upbeat stoner/blues rock . Never mind that it’s not sophisticated, or heavy, or that it’s mind-numbingly cheerful and lyrically one-sided. It’s amazingly catchy, blurringly listenable and unashamedly retro. Light those spliffs, the new stoner lords are trampling everyone else in their way!
