Cathedral
Forest Of Equilibrium
[Earache]
Very much Sludge. It hit the brakes on the speed that was pretty much the
norm as death metal held the stage. Doom and gloom was back. Ultra
depressive but morbidly good. Almost slow motion metal, it trudged along
with muddy boots. 'Ebony Tears' is an amazing song, real cool vocals by
Lee (he hadn't reached the stoned/drunken vocal style of present days quite
yet, he was a growly englishman here). 'Serpent Eve' is another really good
example of fine doom with it's ritualistic atmosphere. Great stuff throughout.
