Forgotten Woods
As the Wolves Gather
[No Colours]
This is the first album of Norwegian FORGOTTEN WOODS, who used to sound so much
like BURZUM that you won’t believe your ears at the first listen.
The rocking catchiness, melancholic hypnosis and also some of the ingenuity of
composition that albums like ”Det Som Engang Var” had, are there in this hour of
winter forest black metal.
Of course, vocals, production and instrumental performance are tailored to be as
close to BURZUM as Elvis imitators can match the alien-abducted rockstar. Some
listeners might get bored because FORGOTTEN WOODS are nowhere near the purity of
feeling and trueness of BURZUM, but it’s not bad for those who really get great
kicks out of this style.
