Eyehategod
Take As Needed For Pain
[Century Media]

Amplified motherfuckin' self-destructive blues straight out of the fetid swampland of New Orleans - this is the music for all the white trash kids drinking brown bagged 40s outside the 7-11, music for all those Sunday mornings when you wake up feeling like you wanna die without even remembering what you did the Saturday night.

Eyehategod play a twisted kind of southern deep fried sabbathy blues, every note reeking of dope and stale beer... this is anxiety and self-loathing set to feedback and a groove, and goddamn it's motherfucking good. The band work from a fairly basic artistic medium and uses it to a maximum effect - throatfucker Mike Williams expresses the vision through lyrical damage and his tortured rat scream. His patented Burroughs-esque cut n' paste approach deals here with the whole gamut of topics from drug abuse to alcohol abuse to child abuse to shoplifting. The whole southern lifestyle, y'know?

These are songs for all those nights when you're pissed drunk at a burnout party and have to urge to jack yourself off all over some dude's slutty little sister. Gimme a HELL YEAH!
