A year after getting this, I'm like, hmmm, let's play it (jaw hits the floor) Whoah! Ripping! This album flows, truly atmospheric, reminds me of old Swiss act Messiah, probably due to the breaks when a demented bass picks away while grim, croaked vocals scare you. I didn't notice any keyboards, there's a bare minimum of female vocals. This is more comparable to Bathory (pre-viking metal/viking metal transition) than anything in my humble opinion.

I would not call this just black metal, but Black Magical Metal. Pull out your Runes, the Lesser Key of Solomon, or even your D & D books, and let ritual metal possess you!
