With this record, Darkthrone expand on the raw and brutal brilliance of A Blaze in the Northern Sky while at the same time adding a touch more melody and romance to the music. The guitars are distorted to point that they know longer sound like guitars, Fenriz's drums are a deranged metronome with a monstrous bass drum, and Nocturno Culto's vocals crackle and croak their way into your brain with the help of lots of echo effects. If you couldn't handle the production on "A Blaze" odds are you won't be able to stand this either, but if you liked "A Blaze" you'll love Under a Funeral Moon.

This is a must own for fans of extreme black metal.
