Unsane
Scattered, Smothered & Covered
[Amphetamine Reptile]

What can I say? I love this band. They continue to kick ass with more terror and precision. Although, there aren't any fundamental shifts from the established song writing formula, Unsane's sound became tighter, heavier and darker, albeit more polished, or should I say - less messy and distorted. The riffs are a bit slower, more metallic and grinding. On "Get Off My Back" the band even explores new territory, opting for extra-slow pace and brooding, Neurosis-esque claustrophobia.

Speaking metaphorically, if on their previous records Unsane rubbed your face with sand-paper while repeatedly stabbing you, and then ran you over with a car, now they brought a dump truck to finish the job, then devoured the remains and scattered them all over the place. These guys don't give-up, so if you weren't convinced by their previous work, this album will make you a believer.
