Uranus
Heathendome 1999
[Independent]

Uranus is hard to classify really, but are fairly easy to denounce as utter shite. After I ordered this disc, I remembered their name from the "...and the ravens left the tower" compilation, which, if you remember, was very easily the worst compilation of all time. So I got nervous, naturally...

There's an attempt at some professionalism here, but sounding and looking solid doesn't always mean that your music won't end up sounding like a mushy sack of waste. And that's what it is really: annoying, confusing, and pointless.

Black/Death with a massive emphasis on keyboards/pianos is the name of the game here, regardless. They play with some decent female vocals, and the album is really chaotic with the amount of instruments going on at once, so some people will appreciate that. I'm not sure if they're trying to sound like Necromantia at their most ritualistic, but maybe? And the male vocals (sounding like a quasi-stupefied gorilla banging his head against the wall) need to be tossed next time around.

Crap!
