Depresy has been together since '91, bringing their ghoulish tunez to us all the way from Slovakia. Sighting includes eight songs, of mystery and magik. "Lunar Spell" is very intense, the added synthesizers (by Tomas Kmet), give the music a most haunting appeal. "Monumental Jeremiad of Dismay" is an instrumental, only a minute and a half long, but very appropriately placed in the middle of, "The Antichrist's Philosophy" and smoothly leading into, "The Forest Below the Midnight Shadow". "Tale of Dust" is a foreboding dark song. Dirt and Shimi guitars are technical, while keeping a death metal edge at all times. Dragon's vox, send me into an orgasmic rapture, Elevo--drums and Martych--bass, are tight and precise. Depresy's members are inventive death metal geniuses. Depresy's Sighting is in the top five of my favorite releases, so far this year.
