Disjecta Membra
Live at WREK
[Unsung Heroes]

Recorded in 1992. The vocals are loud, raw, spoken-like, and snarled. This is slightly thrashy heavy metal. I detect influences of Black Sabbath, Metal Church, Iron Maiden, Metallica. Megadeth fans will enjoy "Die For The Cause".

"Eye of the Hellstorm" is a classic, but you know, I think the Rampage cover of it is actually better. "R Y M O T" and "Neptunes Realm/ Rapture of the Deep" are prog rock/ thrash/ heavy metal like Blind Illusion or Early Warning. "Neptune's Realm" kicks off with such a cool riff, I could only compare it to vintage Sabbath.

The last song, mostly instrumental "Necromancer" is how Mercyful Fate would write a song. String a bunch of riffs together, get really into it, presto, there's a song for you Pasquale, and no one's the wiser.

Disjecta Membra's album is very enjoyable with its basic production. No pics,no lyrics,no liner notes except lineup and recording date. This has a bootleg quality. Truly underground metal, both this defunct band and the record label. (BY the way, I ain't asskissing, as I've ordered and paid for all official UHR releases I own, if you're wondering why I'm reviewing a lot of their product lately).
