Sacramentum
Far away from the sun
[Adipocere]

Well what have we here? Actually the most underrated album of modern times. I always here people babbling on and on about Sacramentums later outings “The Coming of Chaos” and “Thy Black Destiny” but not a single word about this excellent (and I mean EXCELLENT) album. Some people consider Sacramentum clones, have they heard this album? If they have, they must be deaf, dumb or both.

The music then: OK it’s Swedish-sounding (I’ll give you that you ignorant fucks ;) but they are from Sweden so what the HELL. It’s black metal of course and it’s melodic in a way. Now here is the tricky part: describe this wonderful piece of music with a limited English vocabulary. The thing is: when you listen to this release the first time it’s easy to wave it away as just another Swedish BM-release. But it’s so much more. It’s no stupid lead guitar to play the melodies, the riffs themselves blend together in beautiful melodies (well I know it sounds gay but it’s not) combined with numerous changes in speed from hyperblast to rather slow-paced parts. The drumming is excellent, just fucking excellent, among the most diverse I’ve ever heard. The bass is hard to pick up but it’s there in the background filling the usual gap. The vocals are a shrieking type and seems a bit to weak the first listens but they grow on you, man they grow on you! They end up fitting the music perfectly. This is not so heavily influenced by death metal as their latest releases and that’s a good thing as it paves the way for true originality. Hey! I know what you are thinking. I’m not saying that Sacramentum is total geniuses that invented their own music-genre. All I’m saying is that this is Sacramentum and nothing else, they don’t sound like any other band and (for those asses out there still screaming about Dissection) I think this is better than anything Dissection ever managed to come up with.

If the above don’t make any sense to you, you should know that it’s always better to check things out for yourself. All you need to know is that this is album with a low wimp-factor and that it comes totally FUCKING recommended. A FUCKING 10.
