Mayhem
In Memorium
[Freezing Moon]

"In Memorium" is certainly the best MAYHEM bootleg CD ever made. It was really done for the fans, unlike many other unofficial CDs, as it contains 3 different rehearsals for a total length of around 70' ! The first rehearsal is with Dead on vocals and was recorded circa 90/91. It consists in all the bands' "classics" (PFA, Necrolust, Freezing moon...), the seven tracks here have quite a decent sound, everthing is listenable. Then comes the ultra famous track "Flower song", on which MAYHEM & BURZUM members sing-along (obviously they were severely drunk...), no need to comment this one, it will be good for your Saturday parties, when you don't really understand what happens to you... After that "song", there are 5 tracks that were recorded during a rehearsal in May, 1992, without vocal parts but with Euronymous on guitar, Count Grischnackh on bass and Hellhammer playing drums. All these tracks can also be found on the "From the darkest past" bootleg CD, except "From the dark past", which is available on this CD only (as it does not appear on "F.T.D.P."). The sound is good. And, finally, the last two tracks are taken from a rehearsal from April of 1991, with Culto Culus on vocals ! This is probanbly the most interesting rehearsal of that CD, as Culto Culus was the guy supposed to replace Dead on vocals after he died, and this rehearsal shows you this singer was really excellent, his voice was not that different of Dead's one (maybe it seems less tortured), and I really don't understand why Euronymous finally decided to "fire" him and took Attila Csihar to sing on "De mysteriis..." If you like The True MAYHEM, get this CD !!!! Worship those who ruled...
