"Bloodlust & perversion" was the title of CARPATHIAN FOREST's firt demo tape, so the guys who released this CD (either Avantgarde music or one of their subdivisions) decided to call it like that. But the CD not only contains this demo (from Sept'92), but it also features the '93 promo tape of the band ("In these trees are my gallow") and a rehearsal session from 1992. I think CF's release which is the most like this one is their first MCD, "Through chasm, caves & titan woods", first because it consists in tracks from the promo tape, but also because of the "cheap" production and the evil feeling streaming from it. At the time, CF was playing sick & necro black metal, just listen to "the last sigh of nostalgia" to understand what I mean... And the rehearsal session that ends the CD contains material for the fanatics of old Black Metal (CELTIC FROST, MAYHEM etc.), including a VENOM cover track. So I would recommend this album to those who like "rotten-sounding" productions and simply True Norwegian Black Metal...
