Second album ever done by the band, this is the one on which these Dutch warriors found their musical direction. BURZUM-like screams, depressive and "groovy" guitar riffs with a big role played by the bass player, this is typical of COUNTESS, this unique style they call Orthodox Black Metal, so pure, so cold and so stirring at the same time (try not to bang your head on the excellent instrumental track called "Into battle" !). This is what made the fame of this band, so get this CD and join the COUNTESS cult ! Probably their best CD with "Ad maiorem Sathanae Gloriam" !
