Dodheimsgard
Monumental Possession
[Malicious]

This second CD by DODHEIMSGARD is completely different from their first opus. First, no more Fenriz playing drums. Then the radical change in the style is a very good thing in my sense. The first CD was OK, but that's all, and listening to it ENTIRELY was quite a boring thing. This one is a great compromise between furious black metal (I mean it's fast, aggressive and well played, but we all know this is common with Norwegian bands) and a kind of thrash metal rytmic, spirit and attitude ! And this mix is a good stuff ! A bit like for AURA NOIR's first recording (both are similar in fact, this is probably due to their common members I guess), you can't help headbanging and playing this CD as loud as possible each time you put tyour ears on it. But isn't it the mark of excellent metal albums ? And with such musicians as Aldrahn, Apollyon, Alver and Vicotnik, the result couldn't be anything bad... Ber careful, it's a dangerous thing to listen to this CD when you're on your motorbike (or in your car)...
