FALKENBACH is really a unique band. On this 2nd CD, they play pure viking/pagan metal songs, with many keyboard parts, traditional black metal vocals and clear "warrior" vocals. This makes of this CD quite a "mainstream" viking metal release, which could be apprecieated by Black Metal addicts (because of the strong influence of BATHORY's "Hammerheart") as well as by people who do not especially like "extreme" metal or metal in general (I know several people who don't listen to metal at all but who like this CD). The songs are refreshing, melodic (the synth parts and the GREAT clear vocals) yet powerful (the drum parts) and aggressive (the strident BM vocals, similar to the ones on their first CD). The songs are quite long (over 6'30" in average), but listening to them is a real pleasure and when the CD's over you will play it for a second time, for sure. Heathen hearts, this CD is for you !!!!!! Professionnal Viking Metal, made by people who know how to do it in a perfect way. Buy or bye !
