[Flesh For Beast]

The only thing these Norwegian guys changed on this album (except for the line-up) is the label that released it. The days when the band was a part of No Colours Records' team are gone, but this doesn't prevent them from keeping playing some apocalyptic Norwegian Black Metal in the purest tradition, ala old SATYRICON or DARKTHRONE. If Fenriz and Satyr are among the people you worship most on Earth (for their OLD albums, of course...), you need this LP and will not be disappointed when listening to it. There are two cover tracks on this album : KREATOR's "Ripping corpse" and SEPULTURA's "Antichrist", much faster than the original versions. They are pleasant but not especially great... At least they fit very well with the other tracks, which makes an album really great to listen to at maximum volume, praising the old glorious days of Norwegian BM !

If you like this one, you can also get the first two albums of the band, "Arma Christi" (1995) and "Massive terrestrial strike" (1997), both out on No Colours Records. They are exactly in the same vein, with a very similar sound, even if the line-up was different at the time (in fact T. Nefas and Mr T.L. Messiah are the only members remaining from the first two CDs ! I read somewhere that there's a former KVIST member in the band, but I don't know if this one is the new drummer or not...) Sometimes, the masters should learn from their pupils : music and mental attitude mustn't develop within Black Metal, or it is no longer Black metal...
