Abigor
Lux Devicta Est.
[Independent]

Another great reh.-promo item from Abigor from 1994. These guys just released demo after demo of great material for so long, and this was one of those. A few of the songs later ended up on Verwustung, as did tracks from so many of their early outputs. This has the great vocals that were on the earlier releases, I think it was Moonrise in particular; the really shrill and high pitched rasps. Many to most of the songs are well developed as is usual for Abigor. The second clocks in at over nine minutes if I remember right. A fitting production for a demo release, and really not that much below the level of Verwustung or Opus IV. The instrumentation and execution is impeccable; we have seen over the years that all aspects of Abigor's technical abilities are phenomenal. I would say this is, along with the other early outputs, a great Abigor reflection. I would have preferred them to take a more underground route, producing gems like this, but alas, they did not and that makes these releases all the more special I suppose. After Verwustung they never did sound as vile as they did here except on Opus IV. To top, there are some exceptional spoken introductory passages scattered around the tape that are done over crazy synth patterns. They are very well done.

1. Filii Septemtrionum
2. Diabolic Unity
3. Sawculum Obscenum/Kingdom of darkness
4. Aniemae Tortate
5. Finis Redemption/Crawl Back to Your Cross
6. Obliteration (outro)
