I've never cared much for Hypocrisy, nor their older material in particular. This demo has three songs all of which were later remixed for the "Penetralia" album; "God is a Lie," "Suffering Souls," and "To Escape is to Die." If you have heard these cuts you can make your own judgments. I only hear what I hear from so many old death bands; simplicity, lacking melody, Slayer influence, etc. The technical ability on here is not the best; drumming is often behind. A very dour release, even for a demo.
