Frozen In Wacken
[]

Few Black Metal bootlegs CDs can pretend to have such a good sound as this "Frozen...". As the covers suggests it, there is a "razorsharp" sound on this recording, it was certainly recorded from the soudboard as the quality is simply excellent. Most tracks on this recording, taken live in Wacken in the month af August, 1997 (one of the last gigs ever by the band...), are from the "Storm of the light's bane" album : Night's blood / Where dead angels lie / Retribution - Storm of the light's bane / Thorns of Crimson Death / Unhallowed, whereas there are only 2 tracks from the first recordings of the band : Frozen (not listed on the booklet) and The somberlain. But this is not a big deal as any period of the band is excellent, which is not common with the old gods of the Black Metal scene. The only 2 things you may regret is 1) you can't hear the audience (but isn't it better than the recordings where you can only hear the audience and not the band ?)and the band's best song ("Heaven's damnation") is not featured on this album. Apart from that, there is no reason for you to get it.
