Karbach Brewery Rodeo Clown Double IPA (2025)

Presenting the richer side of IPAs, this double IPA has a slightly burnt flavor and intense bitterness but ultimately goes too far into an unbalanced sourness, missing that sweet spot where IPAs still taste like beer just without the soda pop and rotting squash flavors normal to American beer.

One of our regular posters proposed in the comments what should really be a test: is this beer so much better than Natural Light that it is worth the money? In this case, it passes the Natty Light test but does not go much further; this beer is not fun to drink, not because it is bitter but because it lacks any balance or grace.

“Balance or grace? What is this neutered nonsense?” you might say, but the fact is, many things in life we appreciate when they are not screwed up but do not notice that fact. Here, there is a jarring lack of balance to the flavor which ruins the ability to appreciate it subconsciously as whole and natural.

Here’s the problem, the cover art isn’t stupid/brave enough like the previous ones. In this case, if it doesn’t look like something that Sam Hyde would design you’re dealing with a watered down produkt.

The metal goon way is to judge a book by its cover 9/10 of times, and you’ll be surprised.

Search around for maibock. The malt liquor par excellence from German styles on beer. Malty and high alcohol, but I can see many takes on the style going too far on sweetness, the dreaded short-cut to high alcohol favored for a quick fermentation rather than a good recipe. I haven’t had any imports, but there may be several American breweries putting it out. I survive on maibock, hefeweizen, and märzen throughout the seasons. I could acclimate quickly to the upper Alps of Germany.

    1. Cynical says:

Wrong question. If the bugs want to be in your anus, it’s going to happen eventually regardless of your desires.

BOOMER. There, finished it for you. How come Adrian McCoy knows how to make italics and space paragraphs, but I can’t? Is there an online guide for these and more tricks?

I drank many forms of alcohol, my favorites are:

    Champagne
    Dansk Mjod
    Jagermeister
    Cognac
    Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey
    Cherry wine

Beer is not on the list, but I could do with it if there was nothing else. Time to broaden the horizon.

What’s that ya say, Kitey? Next one’s on you pal. How ’bout them Cowboys? What’s that ya say? Hoomisism? Sounds like horseshit, if yer askin’ a fella.

  7. Cannibal rectum says:

Cannibal Corpse – Tomb of the mutilated (remastered), needs to be considered here.

I don’t know about the rest of the discography though, all I know I like this one enough to call it a “twisted, fuck up classic”.

Vulnificus have released their debut album on Comatose, sounds way better than the demos
