D&Q The Beer Station (Houston, TX)

If you are stuck in Houston, more pity to you. It has renown only for being less suck than Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio, and less hipster than Marfa or Marble Falls. But if you like hot, wet, and flat places which are more international than the UN, it might warm your heart.

D&Q The Beer Station stands out as a classic of a weird part of a weird town: a normal convenience store in which the beer took over, and the owner installed a contemplative fish tank to introduce calm in the midst of lots of expensive foreign beers.

On the plus side, it has everything from everywhere; on the downside, it charges liquor store prices and you have to go to Houston. But you will find the exotics here and if you show up once a week, you will find something new to enjoy each time.
