Famous for its bitter hipster IPAs, Karbach Brewing Company attempts something slightly different with this beer, a wheat and barley based adjunct beer that like Modelo Especial, delivers a thin but pleasant taste, although in this case, without undo sweetness, fermentation artifacts, or bitterness.
You could in fact see this beer as what Corona Extra always wanted to be, namely a low-resistance easy-swilling summer beer than has moderate alcohol and maximum water content so that you could spend all day sipping before you got too drunk to play Galaga.
Will this please the die-hard Karbach fans? If they have open minds, maybe: it is a different type of beer for a different drinker, but quality remains high, and for the category of adjunct beers, it remains a solid contender to the German and Dutch offerings.
