There is a post on the Metal Hall that informs about CD degradation. It says cds will stop functioning.
That is the saddest news I’ve read in a while. Damn!
Then what’s the point of all these metal reissues if they’re not going to be functional?

It says they are vinyl reissues…

Which makes me go “what the hell?”. I want to purchase, but I do not want to purchase vinyls.

Relax, if you handle a CD well it should last well over a lifetime. CD rot caused by oxidization is only something that realistically happens to some old 90s CDs pressed by certain plants, most long out of print by now. The article focuses entirely on those and for some reason acts like it’s widespread.

Now if this reissue would spawn a U.S. tour, this would be perfect!

  3. tiny midget says:

guys, what would happen if we lived in a country where mediocre metal music was punished with death penalty?
how many metal albums would you think would be released by year?

    1. Nito says:

A lot less suburban white males in baggy trousers and Lamb of God/Slipknot shirts. Probably 1-4 releases every 3-8 years.

and this is one of the reasons Death Metal.org is great:

CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE A POST ON PROGRESSIVE METAL BANDS LIKE DREAM THEATER AND SYMPHONY X ?
