Lord Wind Release “Severnyi Veter” Video

Lord Wind, the currently medieval folk side project of Rob Darken (Graveland), released a music video of new material on their Facebook page.

“Severnyi Veter” is a folk jam with medieval instruments. Rob Darken plays the mandolin and his wife Olga sings. While the song is not bad for what it is, Olga’s Egyptian/Gypsy hand dancing reminds of Spinal Tap’s free-form jazz exploration:

Lord Wind is gay sissy garbo

    rank the gravyland releases

Glare: 8/10 “we’re polish and we like bathory”

    Celtic Winter: 7/10 overrated

Carpathian wolves: 8/10 musically one of the best but it’s nothing but flabby bass guitar swallowing everything else in my stereo so I don’t listen to it much

Thousand Swords: 8/10 weird album for how popular it is

Following the Voice of Blood: 7/10 jingle jangle

Immortal Pride: 9/10 underrated, totally transcends its video game aesthetics and falling-apart-at-the-seams drumming, makes everything else I hear after it sound flat and lifeless in comparison

    everything after: whatever

I think memory and Destiny is just as strong as immortal pride if not stronger. It’s at 10/10 release in my book. More layered and interesting.

Its just Dorkem and the LARPcrew passing wind.

Find Carpathian Wolves rehearsal. I think that from later albums Fire Chariot Of Destruction stands out in a positive way.

    4. S.C. says:

      You’re so smart

    5. Marc Defranco says:

      I like jingle jangle best

      1. Imposition says:

Only an aspergers-riddled ‘traddie’ who experiments with whether, in the 21st century, you can float in water wearing armor would think Celtic Winter is over-rated.

      2. Imposition says:

        Lord Wind is extreme autism

        1. Marc Defranco says:

If you’re responding to me thinking I like lord wind better, I was referring to following the voice of blood from the review as jingle jangle. Celtic winter is my third

        2. Rainer Weikusat says:

Lord Wind may be an extreme imposition (it’s too much of an unintentional parody for such an extreme adjective, though), but calling a group activity involving a married couple autistic is little short of “No, I don’t fucking know what this means, either, but it sure sounds like something I’d hate!”.

Reminds me of the US habit of randomly calling everyone Marxist — should you ever encounter a marxist, you’ll recognize this by him lining up you and your enemy against a wall for being shot as enemies of the people, entirely unwilling to distinguish between barely distinct shades of bourgoise degeneration.

            Still haven’t been outside yet?

            1. Rainer Weikusat says:

Why you repeat all the time?

            2. Nope. There are voters out there man, and you can’t trust a one of those.

          2. Imposition says:

Are you seriously going to claim this isn’t a direct result of autism?

It is in fact better then Thousand Swords, yet not better than Carpathian Wolves

  2. Lance Viggianno says:

    Renn Faire Muzak.
