Upcoming tours – Venom Inc, Necrophagia

VENOM-663x1024

According to the folks at Earsplit PR, the “Prime Evil” lineup of Venom is joining Necrophagia on a tour of the United States this January. This tour was initially planned for fall of 2015, but was apparently postponed. Venom Inc. (as the lineup is called) is to be distinguished from the current official line up of the band, which revolves primarily around Conrad “Cronos” Lant and spends its days touring and releasing the occasional forgettable album. Band bashing aside, if you’ve ever felt the need to see one of Venom’s more polished and mainstream lineups touring with god knows what Necrophagia is up to (outside of promoting 2014’s WhiteWorm Cathedral), then you’re a far more specifics driven person than I am.

If you are not married, you should take this woman up on her offer

Bretts getting old and senile… you might get your chance yet.

This whole “Legendary band-suffix in small print to indicate it’s not the real thing” shit has got to go. I recently sat through a whole fest to watch Terrorizer at midnight just to see Pete play drums for the first time that I’ve seen since the Formulas tour only to see some random schlubs on stage with the original singer under the moniker “Terrorizer L.A.” even though it was not indicated as such on the flyer. Total bullshit cash grabbery.

Hey man, that first Necrophagia is pretty fucken great stuff. Never been able to get into Venom though, and this is coming from someone who worships bargain basement NWOBHM like Tysondog and Omega!

1980s-era Necrophagia is still amazing to me. If their current setlist has a lot of that early material / “Season of The Dead” Lp being played … boing !
Venom’s “Prime Evil” album and lineup was a shock to me when it was released, I could not get used to the change in sound, and so, I dug Cronos’ solo stuff a lot more. Will have to give it another try, as I still have never seen them live in concert, just home videos / bootlegs.

Season of the dead was a great album. I saw necrophagia back in 2005, worth seeing live. Saw venom at mdf 2013 with cronos hahaha. It was a good set until it was abruptly cut off due to noise ordinance and mdf not being able to get their shit straight. The line-up of cronos, mantas and abaddon will always be the true venom line-up, but cronos is the main ingredient as is king diamond with mercyful fate. Seeing two thirds of the original venom line-up would be interesting, but wouldn’t qualify it as a venom show. That’s just my opinion, there’s also people out there who think the opposite.
