Hare Sathanas

Article by David Rosales.

The dilapidated edifice of modern human spirituality renders standard methods to access the secrets and mysteries so ineffectual that the average man today sees in these terms only quaint poetry or simply nonsense. A dark age of ignorance and inverted values requires an inverted path — one in which we enter a veritable Dark Night of the Soul, one in which a Nietzschean Going Under leads us to transformation and realization through acts of courage and commitment — is perhaps the most appropriate.

There are laws, techniques and acts which render the ascent possible, guarded by teachings which are only bestowed upon the chosen and the faithful.
—Gwendolyn Taunton, Primordial Traditions, Vol I.,

The refinement of tradition through different mirrors, filters, and experiences has led to a plethora of methods being developed; some of these have become increasingly effective, though some would say that the shorter the route the more dubious the method; in truth, it may just be that the most effective method is the most demanding for the human mind. We may see in the most fanatical, sincere and committed black metal a hint of this by what its aesthetics as a whole demand of the listener. The route is shorter, but it is also perilously steep and lacking safety nets.

That reward which a man obtains in the Krita by abstract meditation, in the Treta by sacrifice, in the Dwápara by adoration, he receives in the Kali by merely reciting the name of Kesava.
Vishnu Purana, Book VI, Chapter 2

Rather than community and the support of a society, what will allow us to exit modernity’s dead end nature is the way of loneliness; this not only facilitates but is a requirement for the fastest way to introspection and self-realization; that we may we thus discover truth and beauty…

Such a path and mentality of the night, and the water under the moon, has been at the center of black metal ever since its inception; this is described most revealingly in the following words…

Instead of the listener feeling like he/she is being played to, I would rather they feel like the music is something they are privy to; perhaps as some clandestine eavesdropper.
—Oubliette interview for Introibo Ad Altare MMVIII

The music in question, the black metal of the depths, the literal dark mysticism, is however elitist through and through.

It’s only aimed at superior spirits, and on no account must be considered as a way of changing people’s mind. I speak of themes like knowledge/ignorance, destruction/rebirth, weak/superior races etc…
—Kaiser Wodhanaz interviewed by Lord Infaustum; statement was made in reference to Ad Hominem’s music, which I extend to loftier black metal.

  1. GGALLIN1776 says:

Once you make the journey & find true enlightenment, you will realize everything is pointless as you will die someday. Stop before reaching the peak as it’s all down hill from there.

Fun? Pointless. It only makes the misery more miserable when you look back on it.

Dating? Pointless. The relationship will end in either a break up or death, leaving you more miserable.

Drinking? Pointless. You will only sober up & be miserable once again.

Listening to music? Pointless. Eventually the album ends leaving you feeling empty & wanting more.

Exercise? Pointless. Someday you will no longer be able to do what you once did & when you try you will only be more miserable whilst praying for death.

    1. fenrir says:

Everything is pointless if you only care about your ego. :)
But I do not know if that is “true enlightenment”.

      1. GGALLIN1776 says:

Once you find that enlightenment, ego is discarded. All that is left is a miserable husk chasing death because that is the high that doesn’t come down.

    2. Syphilis says:

I`m positive you`d be singing a different tune if someone was holding a gun to your head and demanding you to justify your existence.

      1. GGALLIN1776 says:

Well i think i might be able to say that you’re wrong herr syph.
One time after i was accused of doing something i didnt, i had 6 cops pointing their guns at me because they thought i was armed. They were screaming “move & I’ll blow your fucking head off”, etc. I said “if you’re gonna say it you better do it”.
Knives are a different story, when threatened with those i fold. Can you blame me? Sounds like a terrible end. I’ve been stabbed before & it was not fun in the least.

    3. Baaaarp says:

“Our youth has gone to the ends of the earth to die in the silence of the truth. And where, I ask you, can a man escape to, when he hasn’t enough madness left inside him? The truth is an endless death agony. The truth is death. You have to choose: death or lies. I’ve never been able to kill myself.”

      1. Only Death is Real says:

Komm, süßer Tod, komm selge Ruh

      2. GGALLIN1776 says:

This. Once you find the truth you wish you were left stupid, happy & child-like.

    4. S.C. says:

Perhaps, then… just worship death. Stronger than anything. Any man, any star.

    5. Rainer Weikusat says:

“Death? Pointless, no way to enjoy experience!”

This sounds a good deal like Schopenhauer-style pessimism (I only know indirectly): Life equals suffering. Suffering is bad. Hence, one should seek to minimize living life in order to minimize suffering from it.

Whoever translated “Die froehliche Wissenschaft” as “The gay science” ought to be burnt at the stake (despite the subtitle). This is “The cheerfully researched science”.

      1. Rainer Weikusat says:

I’d go so far to describe black/ death metal as dionysian music. Obviously incompatible with romantics who are forever dying beautifully.

      2. S.C. says:

They are effectively synonymous, as science is a process of research. I quite like it titled as, “the Gay Science,” due to its palpable irony…

        1. Rainer Weikusat says:

This comes from the subtitle of the German edition (at least), “La gaya scienzia”. I don’t know what that really means in the language it was written in (nor the language) but I do understand the German title: And that’s not »gay«, not even in the original meaning of the word, it’s the same sentiment also expressed in “How to philosophize with a hammer”: Cheerfully smash to bits whatever has to be smashed to bits (lest it does more damage).

As far as I know, »gay« has a connotation of possibly detrimental thoughtlessness and intended lack of substance.

The translation is generally terrible. The person speaking here is absolutely not Nietzsche, not even someone resembling him.

    6. I blew my head off like Per Ohlin says:

      So is life pointless?
      Why do we even exist?

      1. Rainer Weikusat says:

        Sexual accident.

        1. Amoebus says:

The most basic forms of life are completely asexual.

    7. Krueger says:

On a grand scale of things, yes, everything’s pointless, but there can be meaning in life. If you used the short time you had in an efficient way, so as to hide the truth from others and leave them naive, stupid, and happy, their short time won’t be so shit. And though you may realize that in the end neither your experience nor anyone else’s may matter, your natural human reaction to bringing another temporary joy will help you escape the pointless nihilism that comes from enlightenment.

      1. Rainer Weikusat says:

On a grand scale of things, yes, everything’s pointless

Only if you’re a decadent. That’s probably more fun.

  2. Can you surive the blitzkreig says:

You were getting all serious with your mental disorders then you mentioned Bathtub Metallers Katharsis and fucked the whole thing up. And are you wishing to be a woman who meets a sleeping rapist in the night who ends up strangling you? You are getting wispy, people do this on facebook all the time, they listen to some black metal then post a picture of the moon and try to convey the deep spiritual feelings they are having, which must be the result of some sort of dopamine rush. “It is deeply private and spiritual, you wouldn’t understand because you are the underman, which I most certainly am not, and by the way here is a summation of everything I’m feeling/thinking now, I don’t need people! But please read this!”

    1. David Rosales says:

Feeling wispy, rape victim fantasies and masochism… hmmm yeah that must be it.

Please, have a cookie, you’ve learned your Freud well and no pretentious writer will ever fool you into thinking it is NOT about sex and attention.

    2. Rainer Weikusat says:

Why are you on Facebook if you object to people using it?

  3. Can you surive the blitzkreig says:

I meant HOT TUB metallers, I have exposed myself as a poser of the highest caliber!

    1. Excruciating Pleasure says:

For this its to the Judas cradle with you, heretic!

  4. Billy Foss says:

I love Goya. I find it very interesting that this particular file has cropped the image even further beyond what has been lost in restoration by fully removing the lone girl who sits opposite to Satan and apart from the huddled crowd. Is she the latest initiate of the coven? Or was Goya really a liberal, and she sits in staunch defiance to irrational spirituality? If the latter were true, it would be a supremely ironic choice on your part. A chilling, yet beautiful painting.

    1. Yeah it was just a large and well lit photograph of it I found on Google. No ironic intentions.

  5. Goat Egg says:

    I need to rape again.

    1. Spread your ass an worship Satan says:

      There`s never enough rape.

  6. nigstomper88 says:

Katharsis suck a fat chode my man. for all the hubaloo about droning, devoid-of-spirit black metal, Katharsis sums it up.

  7. Astronaut Bread says:

Hilarious when considering the DMU post from the next day which calls out modern satanists for being self-indulgent, tantrum-throwing babies.

    1. Russian Ladies For Marriage from 18 to 60 says:

Understanding and discernment to be exercised by those who have them.

      1. Astronaut Bread says:

        I’m the bread of astronauts.
