Kaeck releases its sideproject Death is the master of this world in an attempt to reclaim the more atmospheric moments from Kaeck, Sammath, and Graveland in a mixture of metal, sampled backgrounds, and ambient guitar riffing more at home on a Swans or Carbonized album than in the somewhat rigid environment death/black metal has become.
This album consists of two fourteen-minute tracks, based on roughly the same theme, essentially the rising of unlimitedness from finity through escaping the micromanaging thought process of the herd and Jesus, which is expressed through layers of a theme developing against organically arising internal contradictory dialogue.
This shows us one of the first attempts since the hazy 90s to bring black metal into its natural evolution, which is a hybrid between soundtracks, classical, and the ancient folkloric music of humanity from a millennium ago. Expect less raw aggression and more a slow then sudden drop into suspension of expectation of the finite replaced by a long gaze into the outer universe.

I rake the firmament of heaven with my claws, and never escape the domed doom.
When all the gods are sodomized, what do we do next?
We take their endless supply of strong drink for ourselves.
I told Jan that. But using other words. He did not believed me.
Most people who think about things take a while to assimilate any outside information, not for the reason that most people do not assimilate (they find reasons to discount it) but because they are, well, thinking about it.
How are you with recommendations? I like coming around to things in my sweet time. Someone being overzealous about something, however quality it might seem from the outside, is an instant turnoff.
About the same. I generally keep them in a rotation until I am sure I understand them. Often this takes years.
Hi Brett:
Why do you claim that while there is nothing wrong about the first Satyricon album, it is not on par with the classics of the era ?
They did nothing wrong, but missed the boat; it feels like grandeur and violence without ever coming to an understanding of each other, which is why the songs seem unfinished. A lot of good ideas went into it but never came to fruition, and I think it misunderstands what the genre is about. I suspect the writers listened to a lot of industrial, which at the time had similar problems.
world still catching up to Cosey Fanni Tutti (among others)
This is true. Also Bruckner and Respighi remain underappreciated.
You think the world will ever recognize its best? No, it’s all about the average. Average is sociable. Average is good. Average doesn’t offend anyone.
I think it will and when it does, there will be still others ahead of their time. Who gives a fuck about the rest.
That describes Christianity, democracy, socialism, bro code, consumerism, and other moralistic philosophies. These are just cover stories for being discontented with life and needing a fiction-absolute in which one is a hero and not a zero.
Individualist mobs are the basis of Crowdism, but this parallels human mental breakdown. Instead of fixing the window, most humans will scream out of it about how they are victims for having a broken window and someone should do something to end their mental anguish.
This is what happens when you lose your natural predators.
because sniper at the fag parade is better than anything they ever wrote
Nice movie review.
Would like to see more of this…
I cannot claim to be a movie expert, but I have learned a few things about scriptwriting and storytelling over the years.
