There is something delicious about a drone. Maneuver the joystick, trip the flaps, train the camera, identify the subject. With a deep sigh, avoid contemplating all that is ahead, then click confirm on your control screen. Watch the brief flash and distortion on your video feed as the missile falls free and ignites. Zoom in on the target. Seconds later, a gout of flame and fountain of body parts.

However, that is not the type of droning we are here to talk about today. Metalheads experience some overlap with technology because we like anything that has power, and being able to see the world from a bird’s-eye-view possesses a certain power that nothing in our bipedal, internal combustion engine world can replicate. A drone is a chance to fly above this world and see what it does not.

For that reason, it’s only fair to pass along a drone video contest sponsored by drone maker DJI. Basically submit cool drone videos, and they do not say that you cannot submit footage from your Predator or Reaper cleansing the Earth of, say, poseurs. The rules are easy enough:

During the week of March 19-24, submit the best drone video that you have filmed, and members of the DJI staff will choose bronze, silver, and gold winners.

Rules:

• The video must be of your creation and involve only content to which you own the rights.
• You must post the video in this thread between March 19-24, 2018.
• Please attach a short description of the video and describe when you filmed it and what you hoped to capture in it that expresses what you like, love, or enjoy about drones.
• You may use any drone and camera combination, including entry level (tiny whoop and other) drones.
• The video cannot include any illegal, immoral, or destructive activity.

If you want to receive DJI products to do reviews in the future, please send your information to the mods so that they can pass it on to DJI. The mods will not retain this information or reference it in other communications.
