Upcoming Grand Belial’s Key Demo Collection

Grand Belial’s Key’s two demos, Goat of a Thousand Young and Triumph of the Hordes, are being reissued on LP and CD by Worldwide Terror Committee Productions next month:

From a post on the Nuclear War Now! forum:

Grand Belial’s Key – Goat of a Thousand Young / Triumph of the Hordes

The 4th of April, 2017, will see an official re-issue of Grand Belial’s Key’s demo recordings on CD. This piece of US Black Metal History comes as a Hardcover Digibook 2CD, with a 34 pages’ booklet that features an exclusive interview, lyrics, old pictures of the Band etc.

CD 1 features a remastered version of “Goat of a Thousand Young” and “Triumph of the Hordes”, an alternative intro and the first demo recording of the track “Goat of a Thousand Young“(instrumental). CD2 holds a raw live recording of GBK, live at the Bayou / Washington DC, 25/06/1995.

A vinyl version is in the works as well and can be expected within the near future. More details in due time…

always thought this was a pretty dull and derivative band. paint-by-numbers black metal. really surprised to see it supported here, actually.

    This band sucks.

Uninteresting, boring and lacking depth … yes, these are some of the tags of things which suck.

Holy shit your ears are broken if you don’t think GBK has some of the greatest musicianship anywhere in music. Gelal riffs are like none other.

      You’re forgetting 1st-album Def Leopard.

To those deriding this band for being uninteresting or paint by numbers black metal, what in your opinion is exemplary black metal? Just curious, not trying to be a dick.

      Celtic Frost “2 Mega Therion”
      Bathory – first 3
      Burzum – first 5
      Emperor – 1st & maybe 2nd
      Immortal – 2nd-4th
      Mayhem – De Mysteriis
      Darkthrone – first 4

      Should I go on? ;)

I can’t really take exception with any of those classics that you have named here.

Although I am not a huge Celtic Frost fan, I prefer Hellhammer.
As for Bathory I would say first 5 or 6.
Burzum and Emperor – I agree.
        Immortal – 1st-3rd.
Mayhem – Deathcrush and De Mysteriis
        Darkthrone – First 5
