Upcoming Tours – Absu

absu_logo

Spring 2016 will see Absu on their… cumbersomely named “Merelogical Nihilism Connexus Tour”. The main purpose of this tour is building up hype for Absu’s next studio album, which creatively will be named Apsu. As of now, said album is partially constructed, band frontman and percussionist Proscriptor claims that he’s completed recording the rhythm tracks, and makes statements that suggest that a great deal of effort has gone into the lyrics. Hopefully similar effort is being placed into the other aspects of the recording; word on the street is that Absu lost some critical direction and cohesion when they reformed. I guess we’ll just have to listen in; a release date has not yet been set for this material.

A list of confirmed tour dates follows. The gig in Somerville, MA places this technically in my commute radius.

  1. Poser Patrol says:

They’re going to fucking IDAHO but no Illinois dates… WTF Absu

    1. Gabe Kagan says:

Idaho’s population is rapidly increasing relative to other states in the USA; if this demographic trend continues, Idaho dates will be more lucrative in a few decades so. Absu is just playing a decades long gambit. </s>

  2. OliveFox says:

Hm. Richmond is as close as they are getting to me. I certainly enjoy about 60% of Absu’s output, and wouldn’t mind seeing them live, but, probably not worth the trip, sadly. They really just left a Maryland shaped hole in their schedule. No DC/Baltimore shows. Don’t blame them…shit-hole cities that have been over-run by creepy hipsters with Blut Aus Nord hoodies.

  3. gjh says:

In regards to the two posts complaining about a lack of Illinois or MD dates, the reason they are left off this tour is because ABSU already has these dates confirmed before the tour:

Chicago – at the Metal Threat Fest, July 15/16/17
Baltimore – Deathfest Preshow – May 25th at the Ottobar

  4. morbideathscream says:

Already have my ticket for the pre fest show in Baltimore. Saw them in 2009, killer live show. Go catch them if you haven’t seen them yet.

Sun if tipereth, third storm and tara are the highlights of the band’s career.
