Blending old school melodic Swedish death metal forms and the faster styles of New World underground metal like Mortem or Krisiun, Dissidence builds on its roots of melody with abrupt but precise riffs that project an atmosphere unique to the band.
Rejecting the era of formless riffs, but relying on the contrast of tones against textures in the method of later Immortal, this inventive band have a gut instinct for raw metal that is not solely bombast but bends its exuberance and violence to the path over topography of an adventure or poetic realization.
Vocals sounding like later Immolation guide these songs rather than dominate them which shows an astute study of classic death metal. Most of all, these songs all have a point and all the parts relate to that, even when contrasting, producing a cavernous route through an ambient sensation to find its essence in opposition.
