Word has gone out that Jill Lisson (formerly Daily and McEntee) has passed on to the rainbow bridge from a combination of heart ailments and diabetes at age fifty-four. Lisson, the longtime bassist of east coast earthmover primitive death Funerus, will be missed by many.
A bassist whose double-stroke technique produced a growling mass of motion, she helmed the old school band inspired by Master, Motorhead, and a host of doom metal and death-doom classics, later marrying John McEntee from Incantation for a time and collaborating with him on the band.
We could post something sappy here about how she is probably trading pints with Ozzy on the shores of the River Styx, but most likely, she has been reunited with her loving critters who preceded her in the great passage. Good luck, Jill, and thanks for all the tunes.
